Updated: Mar 17

After many years since our last junior event, we were thrilled to see its return, and it was a resounding success with over 70 enthusiastic kids participating.

Results

Please note that the results from the Junior Triathlon are recorded using a timing system that is over 30 years old and requires manual input and processing. All individual swim start times have were manually recorded, along with a finishing time recorded by the timing mat. Due to this, there are a few factors that could impact the recorded times:

  1. Finish Time: The finish time reflects when the participant crosses the black timing mat, not when they go under the finish arch. This setup is a limitation of our timing system, and as such, there may be instances where participants who crossed the finish line but were delayed in stepping on the mat might have slightly slower times than expected.

  2. Manual Lap Counting: Participants were responsible for counting their own laps. Therefore, there may be variations in the number of laps completed which could affect the overall results.

We are hopeful that we will be able to upgrade our timing system in the near future to provide an improved experience for future events.

At this time, we do not have the capacity to make changes or adjustments to individual results. This event is intended to be a fun, participation-focused experience, and we appreciate your understanding.

About this event

This is a fun and inclusive event for juniors (9-17 years as at 1st Jan 25) to experience the thrill of triathlon in a supportive, safe environment. To ensure it is a safe and fun experience it is a requirement that all participants are capable of completing the registered distance unaided and without stopping, however on the day if there is an issue (particularly during the swim)  they can stop, change to a different stroke or hold on to the pool edge before recommencing.
